New England Booksellers - GET PUBLISHED!
New England Booksellers and Librarians have an opportunity to create our own book that will be sold exclusively in our stores for Spring and Summer, 2011.
There have already been a
Great Lakes Reader
and
The Pacific Northwest Reader
, with pieces written by booksellers + librarians. Now it’s time for
The New England Reader
!
Here is how it works:
Write a 2,500-word essay about your state, what you love about it, your own experience of it. While this is not about your bookstore life, certainly incorporating this into the piece is fine.
The book will include 1 or 2 essays per state, including New York State.
The book will be published as a paperback original and will include a listing of all NEIBA member bookstores in New England. A percentage of all sales will be donated to ABFFE.
Carl Lennertz at Harper is acting editor on this project. If you would like to see any sample essays from the previously publishers Readers he will be happy to send them to you. Carl will be the editor for each published essay and can be reached at
Carl@harpercollins.com
.
This is a terrific opportunity for New England booksellers and librarians so get the word out there!!
