E-Blasts, Newsletter Banners, Website Banners ($250 - $1,000)

No matter the selling season, NEIBA's digital advertising platform has you covered. We offer daily e-mail blasts, weekly newsletter banners, and bi-monthly website banners. These advertisements are ideal for promoting single titles, seasonal collections, ARC requests, and bookseller promotions/resources. You supply the image and the click-through link; we send it to our 850+ contacts. Click here to read more.

Book Alert & Mailing List ($175 - $500)

If your goal is to get a title into indie booksellers hands, these are the advertising options for you. The NEIBA Book Alert is the perfect blend of digital advertising and physical promotion: we promote your title on a dedicated page of our website, post it to each of our social media channels, and e-mail our 850+ contacts in a dedicated announcement. Booksellers are instructed to reach out and request a galley or a finished copy (whichever fits your budget, but a minimum of 5). Fall Conference Advertising ($299 - $1,200)

The Fall Conference is NEIBA’s largest event of the year. Attendees gather from across the region to meet authors, collaborate with publishing partners, seek out new vendors, attend education sessions, and socialize with their peers. If you would like to advertise with attendees, this is your unique opportunity to do so. Click here to read more.

The Summer Reading Campaign ($500 - $3,000)

NEIBA is once again partnering with Shelf Awareness for a New England Summer Reading campaign! This coordinated, multi-channel promotional program will advertise to New England bookstore customers in the summer months. 50 NEIBA bookstores participated in 2023's print and digital campaign, distributing 107,000+ printed cards to customers in-store. Both e-mails each had an average distribution of 132,900 sends (an increase of 14.5% since 2022), an average open rate of 50.2%, and an average click-through rate of 1.6%. 

In 2024, NEIBA will expand its summer reading campaign to include a printed full-color catalog. As with the Holiday Catalog, NEIBA bookstores will be able to order copies for free (and imprint with their branding for a small fee) to distribute in their stores. The Holiday Catalog ($1,600 - $5,000)

For New England independent bookstores, NEIBA's Holiday Catalog is both a beloved tradition and an essential marketing tool. The Holiday Catalog is a full-color print and digital catalog produced every holiday season for NEIBA member bookstores. With nearly 120 book titles across genres from over 97 publishers/imprints, the Holiday Catalog is a one-stop-shop for readers looking to gift a book to everyone on their holiday lists!

Print Campaign

Bookstores order print copies of the catalog free of charge (and can imprint with their own branding for a small fee). They can then insert catalogs in local newspapers, mail them to their customer list, have them delivered to households in nearby zip codes via USPS, or distribute them it in-store. Stores stock up on titles advertised in the Holiday Catalog and create displays, which are photographed for social media (to a following of 300,000 on Instagram alone!).

Nearly 100 NEIBA bookstores participated in 2023's print and digital campaign—more than half of our member stores—distributing 525,000+ print catalogs throughout the region! An average of 20% of Holiday Catalog titles appear on the NEIBA bestsellers list during the holidays.

Digital Campaign

NEIBA partners with Shelf Awareness to create a coordinated Holiday Catalog e-mail campaign. The digital campaign consists of bookstore-branded e-mails and a branded landing page, all of which will link to each store's e-commerce platform. Promotional e-mails had an average distribution of 99,900+ sends, an average open rate of 50.2%, and an average click-through rate of 2%.
